The report that comes after probate — ready to send
After the court gives you your certificate, one report is still owed: the Estate Information Return. It goes to the Ontario Ministry of Finance — not the court. You have 180 days from the day the certificate was issued. Even when the estate paid no tax, the return must still go in.
Skipping it is an offence. A person found guilty can face a fine of at least $1,000 — up to twice the tax, if that is more — or up to two years in jail, or both. We get the return's facts ready. You check every line and send it.
Your deadline, worked out — free
The rule: send the return no later than 180 days after the day the court issued the certificate. Pick the date above and we work out the day for you.
Found a mistake after you sent it — a wrong or missing asset or value? Send a revised return within 60 days of finding out.
What you get: the worksheet, filled in
One clear worksheet with every item the government asks for on the return — your values already in place, and the math shown:
- ✓who the person who died was — their name and details;
- ✓every asset, listed with its value;
- ✓for a house or land in Ontario: the address, the registered mortgage amount, and clear fill-in lines for the two numbers we cannot know — the assessment roll number and the property PIN;
- ✓the tax you paid or deposited, with the math shown;
- ✓every estate representative;
- ✓the court's address, the kind of application, the court file number, and the day the certificate was issued.
You put the values into the government's own return, check every line, and send it yourself.

Type in the facts
What you type stays on this device until you pay — we use it only to build your worksheet. Not sure of a number? Leave it blank. The worksheet leaves a fill-in line for it.

What this is — and what it is not
- We do not send the return for you. You send it to the Ministry of Finance yourself.
- You check every line before you send it. The worksheet is built from what you type — it is only as right as your numbers.
- This is not tax advice, and not legal advice. It is legal information, organized onto one clear worksheet.
- Keep the estate records for four years. That is Ontario's own guidance.
